"Women in Creative Industries"
Will Be the ThemeThe Visual Effects Days, which will be held for the second time under the auspices of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture in collaboration with ANIKA, and Turkey’s first and only “Visual Effects Awards” will focus on the theme of “Women in Creative Industries” this year.
EFEKT Visual Effects Days is a significant organization that set out with the slogan "Masters of Visual Illusion are in Istanbul!" Organized in collaboration with Istanbul Cinema Museum, Bahçeşehir University, and Institut Français Turkey Istanbul, this event represents a first in Turkey. The program, which took place at Institut Français Istanbul, Atlas 1948, and BAUIDEA on November 24-26, 2023, brought together visual effects enthusiasts with cinema and media industry professionals. This gathering marks an important step for the future of the industry.
Visual effects (VFX) have undertaken a fascinating journey since the beginning of cinema. What started as a simple magic show has evolved into an indispensable part of storytelling. With technological advancements, particularly with the contribution of new tools like artificial intelligence, the boundaries of visual effects continue to expand. While this development opens new horizons in the cinema industry, it also enables creativity to gain new dimensions. Today, visual effects have reached a point that pushes the boundaries of imagination.
Now, we are organizing the second edition of EFEKT Visual Effects Days in a valuable partnership with established cultural institutions with the participation of more VFX and post-production production companies and artists from Turkey. However, in our second meeting, we would like to enrich it with new project partners and supporting institutions and increase its quality and the number of people it reaches, leaving a more important and meaningful impact. We believe that the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Turkey is the umbrella organization in this sense.

VFX Awards! The 1st EFEKT VFX Awards Ceremony, featuring categories such as Outstanding Visual Effects in Feature Film, Outstanding Visual Effects in TV Series Episode, and Outstanding Visual Effects in Student Project, will take place at Atlas 1948.

Sara Bennett Milk VFX
Co-Founder and Creative Director
Sara is one of the founding partners of London-based visual effects company Milk and serves as the Head of 2D Department. Winning the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2016 with Ex-Machina and becoming the second woman to receive an award in this field, Sara has worked as a VFX supervisor on major productions such as Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, The Martian, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, as well as successful TV series like Doctor Who and Sherlock. She has won numerous prestigious awards, including Emmy and BAFTA.
Producer, Director
Their filmmaking journey began in 1994 in France, initially working in Set Design departments. Later, they joined Post Production and Visual Effects teams for various feature films both in France and internationally. Their 28 years of active experience in the film industry includes a ten-year period at Éclair Laboratories in Paris. During this time, they developed their expertise and proved themselves as an experienced Visual Effects Producer. However, their true passion is storytelling; they have directed eight short film projects to date and are excited about their next project.
